Vic Hutfield – a Gosport hero

We’ve been asked to add more information on Vic Hutfield, the aviation pioneer from Gosport who built his own plane in his garage in the very earliest days of unaided flight.

Hutfield built his famous RAS monoplane in 1909, the same year that Bleriot became the first person to fly over the English Channel.

Vic’s family have collected a lot of photographs, audio material, press interviews, video and written memories and have made them available at
